The Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCI Lab) and the Center for Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality of Epirus Region, of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Ioannina, held a live link on ERT3 in order to present the technological innovations of the department. This action took place in the context of the 10th Panhellenic Exhibition of Arta, highlighting the developments in the field of information technology and telecommunications that are being developed in Arta.
At the department’s booth, visitors had the opportunity to see applications and technologies that highlight the power of virtual and augmented reality. In particular, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) applications were presented, as well as modern applications using haptic feedback devices such as hand tracker, eye tracker and haptic feedback robot. At the same time, the presence of Metahuman with artificial intelligence (AI) stood out, offering an innovative interaction experience, as well as the lab’s patented innovative glove incorporating haptic feedback and SmartGlove motion tracking technologies.
This presentation highlights the commitment of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Ioannina to the promotion of innovation and research, offering new perspectives for the application of technology in everyday life and education. The Laboratory and the Centre continue to pioneer the use of new technologies, promoting modern human-computer interaction and the dynamic potential of virtual worlds.
