class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The IEEE Student Branch at the University of Ioannina \u2013 Arta, in collaboration with the Municipality of Arta and with the participation of the Epirus XR Center and the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory (HCI Lab) at the University of Ioannina, will be participating in the 10th Arta Half Marathon \u201cThe Bridge Run,\u201d which will take place on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18, 2026.<\/p><p>As part of the event, the teams will be on-site both days at a specially designed booth, offering visitors the opportunity to learn about and try out modern technologies through interactive experiences.<\/p><p>Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with Virtual Reality (VR) applications, Augmented Reality (AR), and other innovative technologies, learn about the teams\u2019 research and educational activities, and discover firsthand the opportunities to participate in creative and technological projects.<br \/>On Saturday, we\u2019ll walk together and explore Arta!<\/p><p>At the same time, the IEEE Student Branch UOI \u2013 Arta extends an open invitation to all first-year students, as well as the entire student community, to participate in the 5-kilometer walk, which will take place on Saturday, October 17, at 5:00 p.m., starting from Ethnikis Antistaseos Square.<\/p><p>This event is a wonderful opportunity, especially for new students visiting Arta for the first time, to get to know the city, its historical landmarks, and its beauty through a shared walk, as well as to build closer ties with their fellow students and the local community.<\/p><p>The goal is to combine sports and recreation with socializing, outreach, and making new friends, thereby strengthening the students\u2019 connection to the city where they study.<\/p><p>Technology Meets Sports and the Local Community<br \/>Through their participation in the \u201cBridge Run,\u201d the IEEE Student Branch UOI \u2013 Arta, the Epirus XR Center, and the HCI Lab aim to bring scientific knowledge and technological innovation closer to the public, while highlighting the importance of collaboration between the university, local government, and the community.<\/p><p>Our collaboration with the Municipality of Arta helps bring to life initiatives that enhance the University of Ioannina\u2019s outreach and
