University of Ioannina<br \/>are included in the updated international \u201cTop 2% Scientists\u201d database 2026, which was developed by<br \/>a research team led by John P. A. Ioannidis and is available through the Elsevier Data Repository.<\/p><p>Chrysostomos D. Stylios \u2014 Career-long Impact category.<\/p><p>Ioannis G. Tsoulos \u2014 Career-long Impact category.<\/p><p>Alexandros T. Tzallas \u2014 Single-year Impact category.<\/p><p><br \/>All three fall within the main scientific field \u201cInformation &amp;amp; Communication Technologies\u201d and the<br \/>subfield \u201cArtificial Intelligence &amp;amp; Image Processing.\u201d<\/p><p><br \/>The database utilizes standardized bibliometric indicators, such as citations, h-index, adjusted hm-index,<br \/>and the composite c-score. Version 9 was published on October 7, 2026, with Scopus data through the end of<br \/>2025. The two categories\u2014lifetime achievement and annual impact\u2014are distinct and do not constitute<br \/>a single, comparable ranking.<\/p><p><br \/>The inclusion of three members of the same department in this international database highlights the impact of the research<br \/>conducted at the School and strengthens its international scientific presence.<\/p><p>Bibliometric indicators represent one aspect of research contribution and do not replace the overall evaluation of<br \/>scientific work.<\/p><p><br \/>Statement by the Dean<br \/>\u201cThis international distinction is a special honor for our Department and our School.
