The Center for Virtual Augmented and Mixed Reality of Epirus Region (KEEPI) actively participated in the student competition “KIDS SAVE LIVES CHAMPIONSHIP 2024”, which was organized by KIDSSAVELIVES under the umbrella of WORLD RESTART A HEART 2024. The competition took place in Thessaloniki, from the morning of Saturday 13 April to the afternoon of Sunday 14 April, at the Town Hall of Panorama.
In total, 160 schools from different regions of the country participated in the competition, with more than 2,000 students, parents and teachers, as well as 100 KSL volunteer teachers who contributed to its successful conduct.
Students were assessed using modern, scientific methodology, using state-of-the-art educational prompts connected to special software that provides accurate percentage scores.
Participants were also able to prepare for participation in the competition through the VRCPR application, which was supported by the CERC along with the required equipment. In the app, participants could see through Virtual Reality a person collapsing and the goal was to save him/her. The App was directly connected to smart props where there was an exact connection to the human in the app so participants were testing their skills while training.
The competition was an exciting experience, full of emotion and applause. The students pushed themselves beyond their limits, proving that children can be the most reliable factor in saving lives.
The XRCENTER is pleased to have participated in this important event that promotes education and awareness of young people in first aid and human emergency response and is proud to have contributed to this successful event and congratulates all participants for their efforts and commitment to promoting health and safety.
