The presentation of the thesis entitled “Personalized Visualization of Gestures of Patients with Parkinson’s Disease with Virtual Reality” was held with great success. The event was held at the Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality Center of Epirus Region (EpirusXRCenter) of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Ioannina, on Wednesday, March 06, 2024.

The thesis is the result of long-term research and development in the field of medical technology and virtual reality. Based on the need for more effective therapeutic approaches for Parkinson’s disease patients, the thesis explores the use of virtual reality to develop personalized gesture visualizations that can help improve the mobility and life of people suffering from this disease and also help doctors to diagnose patients more directly.

The CAVE space at the EpirusXRCenter proved to be the ideal place to present this innovative research. Students and professors of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Ioannina attended the event, interested in new developments in the field of digital health and medical technology.

The presentation of the thesis highlighted the importance of personalization in the treatment of patients and the potential of virtual reality to create customized rehabilitation programs. At the same time, CAVE was an impressive venue for demonstrating the potential of virtual reality in the healthcare sector.

The successful presentation of this thesis reflects the continued commitment of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Ioannina to promote research and innovation in the field of digital health and biomedical technology.
