Presentation of the doctoral thesis of Mr. Odysseas Tsakai at EpirusXRCenter
On Friday, December 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., the presentation of Mr. Odysseas Katsikis’ doctoral dissertation took place at the facilities of the Virtual and Augmented Reality Center of Epirus (KEEI) of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, at the University Campus of Arta.
The doctoral dissertation, entitled “Optimized machine vision techniques using Convolutional Neural Networks,” focuses on the development and evaluation of efficient machine vision methods, utilizing modern Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures. The research contributes significantly to improving the accuracy, speed, and computational efficiency of vision systems, with applications in areas such as image analysis, pattern recognition, and intelligent systems.
The presentation highlighted the importance of machine vision techniques in modern science and technology, as well as the role of artificial intelligence in addressing complex real-time problems. At the same time, the contribution of KEEPI as a space that supports and promotes innovative research and academic excellence was emphasized.
The Department of Informatics and Telecommunications and HCILAB warmly congratulate Mr. Odysseas Tsakai on the successful presentation of his doctoral thesis and wish him every success in his future scientific and professional career.
